Feature Requests

We’d like to embed the intelligence layer features, such as the Comparison UI and Efficiency X-Ray, into our own platform or offer them under our own branding. This would let us provide users with advanced optimization insights and comparisons while keeping a consistent product experience.

This request is to make available reporting capabilities in the Timefold Platform that expose bottlenecks or inefficiencies in datasets of a model. The report could focus on: Which constraints limit the solution the most Which tasks/visits/shifts stay unassigned, and information on which segments they belong to (to e.g. find skills that are missing the most); Which tasks/visits/shifts are hard to plan (based on indictment information)

This is a request to add an API capability that returns only the differences in assignments or itineraries between two datasets. The goal is to help customers process just the changed parts of a plan after replanning, instead of handling the entire updated plan (which may include thousands of assignments). This would reduce overhead in downstream systems, where only changes—such as new or modified tasks—need to be acted upon.

Each Timefold tenant has limitations on the amount of concurrent threads that can be used by the tenant. This is defined by the tenant's plan. When the maximum is reached, today the platform rejects new runs, and it's on the API end user to retry later. This is a request for the platform to allow to queue further runs, that then start when there are again threads available.

The Timefold Cloud Platform at app.timefold.ai is hosted in the EU, see https://timefold.ai/terms . For US-centric customers, an instance of the Timefold Cloud Platform fully hosted in the US would also be useful.

Today it's possible to easily resolve a previous dataset. This is useful if you want to experiment with configuration changes between datasets, to e.g. see the impact of certain constraint weight changes on the output of a plan. This request is to make it possible to take a dataset from Tenant A and resolve it in Tenant B (assuming the user has access to both tenants, with the right permissions, and the same model being available in both tenants). This would be useful to take e.g. planning problems from a production tenant (where user has viewer rights), and resolve them in a test tenant (where user has more rights), without the risk of using up resources of the production tenant.

This is a request for a "reality check" comparison feature, that makes it possible to compare optimized plans (made in advance) to the plans that were actually executed. The idea would be that this shows: How often, and in what ways, reality deviated from the plan (e.g. delays, reassignments). Whether the plan was too rigid, and where introducing more flexibility could improve real-world outcomes.

This is a request to improve how Timefold Platform users interact with constraint justifications: moving beyond downloadable JSON files toward a more powerful API and UI that let users explore and query them more intuitively.

This is a request for the Timefold Platform to easily tweak the problem statement of a planning problem (e.g. via a Timefold Copilot) and run simulations on how the plan would like like under different other scenario's. Possible what-if scenarios to explore could be: What if I add 20% more workload? What if I have 3 more employees available with certain skills? What if lunch breaks would be 10 minutes longer? The request is to make it possible to: Easily tweak the problem statement (ideally using no-code tools); Run the experiment (in a sufficiently representative way) Be able to easily compare the results

Snowflake is a cloud-based data platform that enables organizations to store, process, and analyze large amounts of data. An integration between Timefold and Snowflake can be useful for getting the data from external systems transformed to the input needed for a Timefold Model Run, but can also be useful to connect the Timefold Model Run output back to customers' Snowflake installations.
